I have a drawer, where I keep the remains of the good things past and concluded - show bills, letters, wrappers. The forms are useless, but the memories are profound. I think that heaven is God's drawer of memories, where he can store the crumpled bodies of the people he doesn't want to forget. Angels are ephemera.

I would think that there are no crumpled bodies at all in heaven, and does god need to choose one memory over another?
ReplyDeleteI do think angels are more important than I used to. the use of angels in song lyrics, ie. bonnie raitt's wounded heart, is comforting to me.

I don't actually believe in god and I was just thinking about the way humans are so brief and ephemeral, but we have special ways to remember each other - graveyards and heaven. But there are also people we want to throw away and go to hell.
