Muto's Meadow

This post has been edited almost every week since I typed it. My philosophy behind my experience is not thought out enough for me to publish it anywhere. Please enjoy this paragraph, and feel free to inquire and comment.

Two nights ago, I climbed on top of a public school building, at least thirty feet high. I lied down and rested my ankles on the edge of the roof, letting my feet dangle in the air. The midnight sky opened up above me, unobstructed by trees or other structures. The high, flat surface of the municipal building acted as my metropolitan meadow. My escape from society, a thirty foot climb away. No one, except my best friends who were with me, knew where I was. I was inaccessible to the clawing fingers of society's giant, grasping hands. I wrapped the blanket of the calm night around me and gazed at the stars. I had my own world, for a little while.
